Some helpful tips for the DIY painting:

  • Consider swapping out expensive wheels/rims for roller wheels to avoid overspray, or properly mask them along with wheel covers.

  • Remember that any imperfections you can feel will be visible after painting.

  • While not mandatory, wearing a paint suit can help prevent overspray on clothing and skin.

  • A respirator is essential for painting in a spray booth, so be sure to choose the right size for a proper fit.

  • Ensure all vehicle parts are fully prepared before painting.

  • If there is a build-up of dust inside the vehicle or in crevices, clean and remove it before painting.

  • If painting parts separately from the vehicle, it may be beneficial to paint these first and allow them to dry while preparing the rest of the vehicle for painting.
